Since my early days in Virginia, I have been making art. In recent years I’ve been working principally with oil and cold wax. The layers of oil and cold wax are applied in textured strokes, glazes and marks that are depicted through abstracted interpretation into flowing colors and shapes, evoking intuitively from observing nature and the world around me. I create by scraping back paint layers to dig below the surface and unveil new impressions of reality. I never aim for a literal representation. I find that my paintings are complete when I find the balance between realism and abstraction.

My artwork is currently on display at the Asheville Gallery of Art,  the longest-established fine arts gallery in historic downtown Asheville, North Carolina.
